Naan (Persian: نان, romanized: nān, Urdu: نان, Kurdish: نان, Pashto: نان, Uyghur: نان, Hindi: नान, Bengali: নান) is a leavened, oven-baked (usually using a tandoor) or tawa-fried[clarification needed] flatbread[1] which is mainly found in the cuisine of the Indian subcontinent (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) but is also found in Western Asia, Central Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and the Caribbean.
